During the nineteen sixties, Vjenceslav Richter, a Croatian artist and architect who was one of the founders and most active members of the EXAT 51 group, developed his synthesizing research in the realm of visual art, constructing a series of kinetic-transformable objects that he named Relief-meter. The basic constructive unit of the Relief-meter is a movable, prefabricated aluminium rod. By its multiplication within a rectangular field, a system was created that contains endless combinations of the initial plastic situation.
