Petar Dabac (Zagreb, Croatia, 1942)

lined b/w photograph / wood, 1970

9 x (220 cm x 220 cm x 220 cm)

With his work Cube, Petar Dabac broadens the limits of photography and poses the question of where it ends.Six different black-and-white photographs, divided into six parts and glued to nine wooden cubes, together make an object, an image. On the other hand, we can view each of these cubes as a separate object. The possibility of a viewer’s intervention into a work of art creates new views of the notion of artwork.
