Davor Vrankić: I Promise You a Miracle

A Croatian artist with a Paris address, Davor Vrankić, is a drawing star. The I Promise You a Miracle exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art will be Vrankić's largest exhibition in Croatia to date. It will feature works from the beginning of his career in the early 1990s to new drawings created just before this exhibition in Zagreb.

Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb presents in a solo exhibition recent films, collages, and art books by one of the internationally most prominent Croatian artists, Damir Očko. This brings together Očko’s remarkable production in the past ten years, including some of the works presented in the Croatian Pavilion at the 2015 Venice Biennale.

Paolo Scheggi. Oplá-Stick 1969-2019

The first solo exhibition by Paolo Scheggi at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb, curated by Ilaria Bignotti and Jasna Jakšić, in collaboration with the Scheggi Archive and with the support of Tornabuoni Art, recalls the historic performance “Spettacolo Opla Stick, the Passion according to Paolo Scheggi“,  that took place in Zagreb 50 years ago. The performance opened the Typoetry exhibition at the Student Centre Gallery, as a part of the international Tendencies 4 exhibition.

Mirjana Vodopija – The Wandering Landscape

Through presenting newer and older works, Mirjana Vodopija re-examines the experience of space by indicating the sense of freedon, but also of exposure in open spaces compared to the sense of security in enclosed spaces, interiors, which serve as the physical and mental territories of personal safety and comfort. With this exhibition, the artist takes us on a journey through different landscapes, opening up potentials for personal experiences, and perception of the boundaries of freedom.

Sigmar Polke – Music from an Unkown Source

Sigmar Polke (1941 – 2010) is one of the most significant German multimedia artists of the second half of the 20th century. The exhibition consists of 40 gouache paintings dating from the year 1996, which are typical of his work based on experimentation with painting techniques and research.
