September 23 at 5:00 PM / To Make the World a Better Place exhibition – TRAUMA section

Join us in the creation of the Anti-monument "850 Women for 850 Women" with visual artist Andreja Kulunčić! This clay modeling workshop, which shares its name with the Antimonument itself, will start at 5 PM, as part of the retrospective exhibition Making the World a Better Place at the Museum of Contemporary Art.

The “850 Women for 850 Women” workshop is part of an important artistic project by Andreja Kulunčić, created in collaboration with feminist anthropologist Renata Jambrešić Kirin and psychotherapist Dubravka Stijačić. The project explores the painful historical events at Goli Otok and St. Grgur, where over 850 women underwent severe camp tortures between 1950 and 1956.

Each clay figurine created by participants during these sessions with the artist will symbolically be dedicated to one of the punished women and will become part of a collective anti-monument, aimed at preserving the memory of their history that must never be repeated.

The program will also take place on the following dates: September 30 and October 7.

Important Notes:

The program is primarily intended for women (15+ years old) and is not suitable for children. No prior experience with clay modeling is required.

Registration is not mandatory. The program is free with a valid exhibition ticket.

The workshop is also open to group visits from women and girls of high school age and older (minimum of 8 participants). Group visits are possible during the scheduled workshop dates or by arrangement, with prior registration via the form and a purchased exhibition ticket.
